I joined KPMG in the spring of 2003 as an experienced senior manager and most recently have been promoted to Partner in the Advisory practices, here in the U.S. firm.

Initially, I really wanted to come back to a true Audit, Tax and Advisory organization. I had previously spent time at other companies that were more focused on consulting and, with the changes in the industry and other things that had occurred, I really wanted to get back to the origins of an Audit/Tax/Advisory firm - and KPMG in the U.S. was the right place to do it.

The Advisory practice is very diverse and we see a lot of different client needs. We do project management, we work with our forensics teams, we do a lot of integrated projects that are customized to our firms' clients' needs and requirements.

Travel and relocation are a component of the work that we do as a result of needing to service our firms' clients in the various locations that they are based in. Certainly there are certain circumstances under which you may travel more or less within the country/outside the country. I have found there are some very unique opportunities to see cities in other places in the world.

Everybody has a personal life. It's important that these things stay in balance, it's important that you manage that. The U.S. firm is very supportive of ensuring that we balance these things out.
